What happens around the office cooler?

A lot of people find themselves spending time chatting with colleagues and friends around the Office Cooler. Discussing the latest sport results, news, gossip or even piecing together the events of a previous night on the tiles. Whatever is chatted about it appears much of it takes place around the office cooler, dispensing water and refreshing all. Why is it that this is the case, why the office cooler, rather than say, the bosses desk? Surely it is because it is a place in the office that all can congregate and discuss anything without fear that work is not taking place – everyone needs a bit of water from the office cooler.
