What I’m doing to help my girlfriend start a blog.

My girlfriend wants to start a blog on equine therapy as that is what she is getting into in the next few months. She already has three horses and is in the process of setting up her ranch right now. She asked me what I knew about blogs and I told her pretty much nothing,however I had heard of software called WordPress. I went online and looked this up and found sites saying things like Expert WordPress scam. I also found a lot of different sites that had nothing but good things to say about it. I Suppose I need to do further research.
