A Brief Definition of Diabetes & Cholesterol

By admin | June 28, 2009

One of the most important things that you will find out during your annual physical is your lipid profile, which is based on your total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol and blood fats (triglyceride) level.  An excessive number of triglycerides can lead to serious cardiovascular disease and complications and sometimes to the debilitating disease of diabetes.  Diabetes & cholesterol are related in that high levels of cholesterol can lead to this serious disease.  Cholesterol is found in your blood and is made by your liver.  If you have too much LDL cholesterol circulating in your blood stream, it can lead up to large fatty deposits accumulating in your arteries.
