A little-known but useful tipoff of high blood pressure

By admin | January 27, 2008

Most experts say that high blood pressure has no obvious symptoms, until it’s too late, that is. They call it "the silent killer". It’s generally true that you can have high blood pressure without knowing it. That’s why you should have regular checkups or, better yet, get your own blood pressure monitor for the home.

However, there is one tell-tale sign of high blood pressure that people should not ignore: eye sensitivity to the touch. Many people are very attuned to this. At normal blood pressure most people will feel no discomfort with very slight pressure on their eyeballs (through the eyelids of course!). But it you start noticing that your eyes become sensitive or sore to the touch you should take heed and check your blood pressure. What happens is that high blood pressure increases the pressure inside the eyeball as well, making it more sensitive.
