Personal Trainers Don’t Know Everything
By admin | August 6, 2008
I found an article in some online newspaper yesterday about people who build home gyms. Was a pretty good article, but as usual, they got some things wrong. From experience, I know that reporters can get facts twisted sometimes, so I’m hoping the personal trainer that was quoted didn’t really say what they said he did. He supposedly stated that home gyms aren’t for everyone. They’re for people with limited time or those who live too far away for a gym, or stay-at-home moms. That’s it, according to the article. Hmm. Guess that I must not be happy with my home gym, since I’m a single guy with no kids who has at least three commercial gyms within a two mile radius of my place. According to this fitness trainer, the mere fact that I enjoy being able to work out the way I want, with my own music, not having to worry about whose germs are on the bench I’m lying on, able to wear whatever I want, work out as fast or slow as I feel like. etc., is not enough reason for me to have a home gym. Okay. Guess I’ll have to join a gym tommorrow. Gee, and all this time I mistakenly thought I was enjoying my workouts!
