Dad Taught us the Importance of Being on Time in the Army

By admin | July 21, 2009

Anyone who grew up as an “Army brat” probably knows a little bit about military discipline.  My father not only taught us what that meant but also insisted on the same standard for his large family of eight children.  Early in our lives we learned about discipline and especially the importance of being on time in the army.  We heard lectures about how good habits had saved soldiers lives and then Dad explained how it would make us better people.  For years I rebelled at so many rules.  Then I grew up and an amazing thing happened.  I realized that discipline had become part of me and helped me handle college and my job easily.
