All you need to download a game onto a Nintendo DS are these steps.
Turn off all Nintendo DS systems.
Insert a game card into the host system.
Turn on each Nintendo DS system.

On the client systems, tap the “DS Download Play” on the DS Menu Screen.
On the next screen, select the game to download.
Tap “Yes” to confirm.
Wait for the download to complete and the game to start.
