Paphos
By admin | August 16, 2008
Not long ago, Paphos and its surrounding areas were underdeveloped. In fact the western side of Cyprus was considered as remote, even by the Cypriot standards.
The tourism industry first arrived in the South of the island. Within a few years, the economic benefits of tourism became apparent. It was with that aim that Paphos and its surrounding areas began an ambitious building program, which continues even today.
It seems that all the hard work, plus the establishment of Paphos International airport in 1983 has been successful. Today, paphos and the Western areas are second only to the South of Cyprus.
