State Capitol - Olympia, Washington

By admin | May 30, 2009

Washington tourism is filled with history and beauty and certainly one of the places you will want to visit is the State Capitol in Olympia.  Built in 1928 the building has a wide range of marble and elegant workmanship that is certainly worth the visit. Some capitol buildings were built immediately following the admission to the Union but in Washington it took 39 years before it was built.  The reason was that it took that long to decide if Olympia or Seattle was going to be the location. While you are there you will also want to go visit the Governor’s Mansion.  Both of these buildings are part of the history of the state and tell a great story of the people of the state and the pride they have.  The tour of the capitol can take between 30 minutes and 3 hours and 30 minutes depending on the amount of time you want to spend.
